Sunday Marvelous Uyi, known
professionally as MarvelArt, is a
Nigerian contemporary artist born
and raised in Edo State.
A graduate of Fine and Applied Arts
from the University of Benin, he
belongs to a generation of visual
storytellers redefining African art
through texture, emotion, and cultural
identity.
From a young age, he showed a
natural inclination toward colour and
form, a gift he has since refined into a
language of expression that bridges
tradition and modernity.
Rooted in his Benin heritage,
MarvelArt’s creative journey is both
personal and cultural. His works
mirror the rhythm of African life, the
struggles, joys, and collective
resilience of his people.
Over the years, his art has become a
means of preserving memory and
celebrating identity, capturing the
silent stories that exist within
everyday experiences.
