Wilson Imini is a painter from Benue State, Nigeria. Born and brought up in Suleja, a town just outside of Abuja, the country's capital, he discovered his interest in art early. He started with creating cartoons and copying animated characters. He schooled in Keffi, Nasarawa State, and while there, practiced art with his teacher. He started painting in 2019 and got inspired by many African artists and the stories behind their success. He believes it is important to try to have fun with colors. He uses bright colors in his paintings to show the beauty and love Africans have for each other. He is also very interested in painting little young people, capturing their different personalities and the experience of youth. His talent and work have earned praise and honors including 3rd place in the senior category of the NNPC/Chevron National Art Competition.
